Senior transportation in Fresno and Madera counties consists of a network of bus, taxi, and shared-ride services. There are discounts for older adults, although some services require an application and/or advanced reservation.
Fresno City Transportation
Get $20 of taxi fare for $5. You must be a resident of Fresno County and age 70 or better.
Fresno Area Express: FAX Bus System
The cost for seniors is .60₵.
Transportation for eligible persons, who because of a disability, cannot use the public bus system. Handy Ride is a shared ride, curb-to-curb service, provided from any origin to any destination throughout the service area for any trip purpose. The cost is $1.50. Clovis City Transportation
Clovis Stageline and Roundup Transit Service
Clovis Stageline bus routes are free for those 65 and better and persons with disabilities. For Stageline routes and information, call (559) 324-2770.
Roundup provides rides for disabled residents of Clovis. The cost ranges from $1.25 – $2.75 depending on destination. Requires an application to get service. For Round Up reservations and information, call (559) 324-2760.
Madera County
The bus is for senior citizens 60+ and those with disabilities only. Serves a limited area- Oakhurst, Bass Lake, Coarsegold, and Ahwahnee. The cost is $1.50 one way. There is an application to fill out. Reservations required. Call the administration office for more information 559-658-5555.
The Medical Escort Van is a service available to all Eastern Madera County residents. It operates Tuesdays and Thursdays only, by reservation, and is available only for transportation to medical appointments in Madera, Clovis, or Fresno. The cost is $10 per round trip.
